Singapore also acts as the operational hub for the APAC leadership team and the regional corporate functions such as Finance, Internal Controls, Marketing, HR and Corporate Affairs.

Job Description

The SC Master Data Specialist is responsible for managing the processes, governance, policies, standards and tools that systematically define and handle the company's key data, aiming to provide a unified point of reference.

This role also serves as a backup and support for the Logistics Specialist role, overseeing daily operational business and serving as the contact point for third-party logistics (3PL) services. The role involves coordinating and monitoring 3PL warehouse operations and tracking inbound and outbound shipments.

Master Data Specialist (60%)

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of data management strategies and processes for all local business data needed to efficiently execute local company operations.
  • Manages GDS info flow in relation to Sales and Customers.
  • Facilitates the implementation of Master Data in required systems at a local level (i.e. SAP, BMI, service systems, etc.)
  • Ensures data accuracy by:
    • Identifying data requirements for current and future state local business processes.
    • Detecting data gaps, identifying functional data owners and leading them to develop data cleansing plans based on data gaps
    • Identifying issues and solutions for local processes
    • Reducing errors and redundancies in data.
    • Simplifying the process of merging and reconciling data and processes
  • Ensures effective resolution of system-related and structural issues by:
    • Continuously improving the system through the implementation of improvement projects.
    • Following up and testing of RFC at IBM, if necessary;
    • Effectively communicating the root causes and solutions of master data issues to all involved departments
  • Assesses internal customer satisfaction and implements improvement activities based on these results
  • Ensures timely setup of material/customer/pricing master data by proactively liaising with business stakeholders to secure timely and accurate product/channel launches.
  • Engages in Co-packing process to ensure all data has been setup and prepared for master data creation.
  • Adhere to internal compliance of company policies, procedures and processes.

 

Acting Logistics Back-Up (40%)

  • Manages daily operational business and serves as the contact point for 3PL services.
    • Follows up and liaises operational issues with 3PL vendor
    • Coordinates and monitors 3PL warehouse operations with Manufacturing Plant logistics teams
    • Plans and monitors inbound and outbound shipments
  • Works with other departments to integrate logistics with company procedures and operational processes
  • Uses the SAP system to manage stock inventory levels and address EDI issues
  • Develops business by securing new contracts, analysing logistical issues, and offering solutions
  • Responds to any issues or complaints involving faulty or damaged goods by providing solutions.

Qualifications

  • A Degree or Diploma in Logistics and/or Supply Chain, or related disciplines.
  • 3-5 years of experience in master data setup/maintenance, and logistics, preferably in an FMCG environment
  • A comprehension of workflow processes and experience in managing data flows with internal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of SAP ECC and APO system
  • Excellent Excel skills
