This position accommodates remote work for candidates residing outside South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia.

The annual base salary for this role ranges from $82,900.00 to $185,700.00, depending on location, qualifications, skills, and experience.

Who Are We Looking For?

Our AI/ML team is actively seeking multiple Machine Learning Engineers. In this role, you will develop advanced analytics systems that directly impact our business. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (data, API, infra, infosec, ML) to drive data-driven decisions across our organization.

Working at the convergence of machine learning and software engineering (i.e., MLOps), you will create high-quality solutions that empower Nike. Who Will You Work With?

AI/ML stands as a pivotal group within Data and Analytics. We are tasked with scaling machine learning and AI across Nike. For business areas early in their analytics journey, we integrate cross-functional teams of data scientists and engineers to develop new capabilities and solve novel questions.

In more established areas, we collaborate closely with platform and architecture partners to enhance machine learning at scale (e.g., model management, A/B testing, feature stores).

Essential Job Functions

  • Contribute to cross-functional engineering teams delivering machine learning solutions for Nike. Analyze, clean, and prepare data, support scalable solutions, and track model accuracy, performance, relevance, and reliability.
  • Leverage industry trends and personal creativity to develop innovative solutions that delight our customers.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and recommend cutting-edge technologies and products in Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science.

What You Bring to Nike

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science or software engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of Machine Learning and its applications, especially the lifecycle of an ML application in production and the role of MLOps.
  • Ability to communicate technical topics clearly and articulate the benefits and tradeoffs of various solutions.
  • Experience working in or collaborating with distributed teams.
  • Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and data solutions.
  • Experience with Python or other languages used in ML (e.g., Scala, Julia, C++) and SQL.
  • Familiarity with ETL, ML, or analytics technologies like Scikit-learn, Pandas, OpenCV, NumPy, TensorFlow, or similar platforms.
  • Awareness of data science platforms (e.g., Databricks, SageMaker), distributed engines (e.g., Spark, AWS cloud), and CI/CD pipelines and containerization is preferred.
  • Fluency with open-source technologies and standardized platforms in Data Science, AI, & ML.
  • Interest in Generative AI for accelerating development and data science tasks or deploying Generative AI solutions in the enterprise.
