Find jobs in Data Scientist

With the development of the IT industry, new professions have appeared and traditional ones have been significantly transformed. For example, previously analytics was associated exclusively with sales, but now forecasting and data assessment are in demand almost everywhere. There is so much information that it required the creation of a separate scientific discipline – data scientist job.

Profession Data Scientist

The Internet and databases are large volumes of unstructured information “dumped” onto the network. And all best companies wants to isolate and evaluate specific data; for example, the Institute of Epidemiology wants to receive a report on the development of a particular virus, a marketing agency wants to find and calculate current trends, and the Ministry of Education wants to find and compare academic performance in the past and the current decade.

It turns out that the data scientist positions are tasked with collecting and analyzing information, and in some cases making a forecast. Naturally, without computer technology it will not be possible to structure data arrays. But don't think that a Data Scientist is just looking for information and putting it in the right order.

Modern data science works with human replacement algorithms, chatbots, artificial intelligence, and so on not only in contract jobs, but in remote jobs, too. A data scientist must have programming skills, since he himself writes the necessary algorithms.

The data scientist positions should not be confused with a business analyst; the latter is more often based on commercial goals rather than on the technical part. A simple example: an online store wants to improve its service. To assess sales, customer loyalty and competitors, the manager invites a business analyst, who advises increasing production, reducing prices or changing the approach to promoting services. And the Data Scientist will make a list of the best technical flaws and ways to eliminate them; in addition to theory, in practice he is able to change ordering algorithms or rewrite a chatbot.

Where is this profession in demand?

Data Scientist vacancy is in demand wherever there is data subject to structuring and algorithmization:

·      Business. For example, a specialist can write an algorithm that simplifies the collection of statistical data.

·      Banking systems. The issuance of online loans, processing of applications for deposits and other banking services are regulated by algorithms written by a data scientist.

·      Transport. Building an optimal route, writing an algorithm for identifying traffic jams.

·      IT. Bots, search engines, artificial intelligence.

·      Industry. Forecasting operational failures or shortages of raw materials.

·      Medicine. Modern medical devices offer automatic diagnoses based on symptoms. Analysis algorithms help doctors work individually with patients and prescribe the most effective treatment.

·      Other areas of science. Genetics and bioengineering cannot do without Data Science.

There are many areas of application for Data Science vacancy, so the profession is in great demand. If it is still not entirely clear what a Data Scientist does, here is the basic sequence of his actions when receiving a specific task:

1.    Receiving technical specifications from the customer.

2.    The specialist evaluates the task and tries to complete the order using machine learning.

3.    The data scientist is looking for additional data and evaluation criteria, since the main thing is the effectiveness of the model.

4.    After this, he begins programming and training the algorithm.

5.    When the model is ready, he tests it to perform the task; other specialists are involved, for example risk managers.

6.    If everything works as expected, the algorithm is implemented into production.

7.    After putting the model into operation, the Data Scientist monitors the processes, modifying or improving the algorithm as necessary.

At the moment, data science work is one of the highest paid and most promising AI jobs in the world!
