About the Team
As the Corporate Counsel of Commercial Contracts, you’ll primarily operate from our New York headquarters or remotely in the USA (East Coast preferred). You will independently draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, focusing on revenue-generating agreements. Collaborating across departments like Sales, Marketing, Information Security, Product, and Content, your role is vital to our high-growth ambitions and fast-paced environment.
Who You Are
- J.D. from a top-tier law school, admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction
- 2+ years’ experience with commercial software and technology subscription agreements
- Expertise in managing high volumes of contracts, including Master Services Agreements, Service Agreements, SOWs, Service Level Agreements, Order Forms, and NDAs
- Strong business acumen with a pragmatic approach to legal risk
- Energetic, authentic, and a great sense of humor
- Effective communicator adept at negotiating and collaborating with diverse professionals
- Proficiency in contract management software
- Experience in information security, data privacy, intellectual property, or financial services is a plus
What You’ll Do
- Take full responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Create and refine legal playbooks to scale the legal department as we grow
- Establish efficient procedures for timely contract handling
- Provide strategic legal advice to ensure contract alignment with internal policies and playbooks
- Stay informed about legal changes affecting commercial agreements
Compensation
Base Salary: $120,000 - $132,000
You may also be offered a performance-based bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
