Role: Freelance German Materials Writer
As a German Materials Writer at Busuu, you will create impactful language courses used by over 120 million learners in 190 countries. Daily responsibilities include:
- Designing German language lesson content using best pedagogical practices for digital learning
- Maintaining and improving existing German courses
- Contributing to syllabus planning for future courses
- Using Busuu’s content management system to build, publish, and maintain course content
- Collaborating with the Localisation team and translators to ensure global accessibility of lesson content
Requirements for the Freelance German Materials Writer
- Extensive experience in teaching German as a foreign/second language
- Native or C2 level proficiency in German, and at least B2 level in English
- Qualifications in teaching German, linguistics, or education (e.g., Goethe, DaF, DaZ)
- Experience in lesson content creation and lesson planning
- In-depth understanding of German grammar and pedagogy
- Experience working remotely and using custom content management systems is a plus
Position Terms and Expectations
- Six-month temporary position, 32 hours per week, focused on developing German courses with potential extension
- Comprehensive training on Busuu’s content management platform and authoring tools
- Fully remote work
