Role Overview

Tom’s Guide seeks a skilled Staff Writer with a focus on AI to spearhead our AI coverage and contribute to our Computing channel. This role involves producing news, features, opinions, and reviews on the latest AI developments and consumer-facing tools. Additionally, you'll maintain essential buying guides and create tutorial content to provide solutions for our readers.

Opportunities for on-camera work for our YouTube and TikTok channels, event attendance, and interviews with AI thought leaders are part of the role. Your collaboration with the AI editor will ensure Tom’s Guide remains a top destination for authoritative AI content.

Key Responsibilities

• Create engaging AI-related content for an international audience.
• Review and edit consumer AI tools such as chatbots, image, and video generation.
• Maintain key AI buying guides and hubs, including topics like ChatGPT and Google Gemini.
• Write news, reviews, and feature content on broader computing products.
• Brainstorm unique AI analysis and opinion pieces to distinguish Tom’s Guide.
• Assist with deals coverage during major shopping events like Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day.
• Track AI coverage performance and adjust strategies with the UK AI editor.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience at an online media outlet.
• Passion for growing AI content audiences with innovative ideas.
• Experience in researching SEO trends and traffic analysis.
• Proven ability to work efficiently in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills and robust industry contacts.
• Experience with story promotion via cross-linking and social media.
