General Summary

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Qualcomm, you will develop and implement advanced machine learning techniques, frameworks, and tools. Your work will empower the discovery and application of state-of-the-art machine learning solutions across diverse technology sectors including mobile, edge, auto, and IoT products. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to enhance both machine learning hardware and software solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements include one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Caffe, PyTorch, Keras).
  • 2+ years of experience in embedded system development and optimization, particularly in specific ML domains such as NLP or multimedia.
  • Proficiency in programming languages suitable for machine learning (e.g., Python, R, C, C++).
  • Strong background in statistics and probability (e.g., conditional probability, Bayes' rule).
  • 2+ years of experience working within large matrixed organizations.
  • Knowledge of low-level interactions between operating systems (e.g., Linux, Android, QNX) and hardware.
  • Experience in roles requiring interaction with senior leadership.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply Machine Learning expertise to enhance training and runtime frameworks, along with model efficiency software tools.
  • Develop machine learning hardware solutions, co-designed with machine learning software, for both inference and training purposes.
  • Create optimized software enabling the deployment of AI models on hardware, such as kernels, compilers, and model-efficiency tools.
  • Collaborate with team members on joint design and development projects.
  • Integrate machine learning techniques into products and AI solutions to empower customers.
  • Prototype and adapt complex machine learning algorithms, models, or frameworks in alignment with product roadmaps.
  • Conduct experiments to train and evaluate machine learning models and software independently.

Pay Range

$133,000.00 - $200,000.00

This pay range reflects the minimum to maximum salary for this role in the posted location. Remember, salary is just one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunities for annual RSU grants.
