About the Role

As an AI Researcher at Merlyn Mind, you will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge AI systems to aid educators. Whether you choose to work remotely or from our NYC headquarters, your contributions will focus on:

• Designing and implementing multi-agent and tool-using systems.
• Advancing sequential decision-making using language models, multi-step reasoning, and planning.
• Enhancing continuous learning and self-learning capabilities.
• Exploring neuro-symbolic reasoning and contextual bandits.
• Reinforcement learning and reward modeling.
• Optimizing AI deployments on multi-GPU systems at scale.

Applicants with experience in classical planning techniques, AI agent frameworks, and large foundation models will have an edge. Familiarity with various training modalities such as CPT/DPT, SFT, instruction-tuning, and alignment is also beneficial.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A graduate degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a closely related technical field (Ph.D. preferred).
• At least 5 years of research or industry experience in related areas.
• Publications in prominent AI/NLP conferences like NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, etc.
• Expertise in deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Jax.
