Applications Engineer Role
Responsibilities
- Operational and functional analysis of customer applications
- Ensure customer adherence to proper operational use of ZeroAvia products
- Assist customers in the efficient use of ZeroAvia products
- Conduct system safety assessments, fault hazard analysis, and failure analysis
- Perform in-field repairs, software updates, and required maintenance
- Support new business pursuits with application studies, cost analysis, and conceptual presentations
Experience & Requirements
- Familiarity with fuel cell systems, balance of plant components, and fluid power principles
- Experience with system controls involving mechanical structures, electromechanical components, and thermal cooling
- Knowledge of low (12V, 24V) and high voltage power electronics (400V to 800V)
- Ability to create, read, and interpret 2D drawings, 3D CAD models, electrical schematics, and fluid P&ID diagrams
- Experience in plastic or metal fabrication, rapid prototyping, electronic hardware design (CAN, SPI, Ethernet), and software development (C, Matlab, Simulink, Python)
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools and advanced CNC machines/additive manufacturing
- Experience in wire harness construction, repair, and maintenance
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Ability to travel internationally
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in a controls heavy industry (Agricultural, Automotive, Aviation, Industrial)
- Applicant must be a US Person due to the nature of the role

Compensation & Benefits
The wage scale or salary range for this position is between $105,000 - $128,000. In addition to base compensation, additional benefits include:
