We're looking for a passionate individual for the role of Assistant Director of Data and Analytics, a key position aimed at enhancing our data tools, systems, and processes to support the organization's continued growth and success.

The Assistant Director of Data and Analytics will lead the vision for data and analytics across the organization, managing, analyzing, and reporting on school- and region-level student and academic data. This role involves developing deep connections with leaders and teachers to meet challenging academic goals and implement data-driven decision-making and instructional strategies.

Job Description

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Data and Analytics include:

Creation and Management of Data Systems

  • Develop and sustain robust region-wide data systems.
  • Ensure the team has access to critical data for informed decision-making.
  • Establish data systems for easy access and interpretation of key performance metrics.
  • Assist in the use of analytical tools to drive student achievement.
  • Create and maintain data infrastructure, ensuring appropriate data linkage and real-time updates.

Data Analysis and Interpretation

  • Produce reports, presentations, and memorandums to communicate data insights.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trends for region-wide practices.
  • Explain complex data sets to diverse stakeholders.

High School Data Analytics

  • Support goal-setting processes.
  • Review and discuss data trends with leadership teams.
  • Maintain high school academic health dashboards.
  • Consistently monitor academic health outcomes.

Point of Contact/Lead for Network Systems and Data Collection

  • Serve as the primary contact for assessment systems like Illuminate, MClass DIBELS, and STAR.
  • Oversee staff and student data collection and survey administration.

Data Compliance

  • Assist with federal, state, and local reporting.
  • Ensure the accuracy and validity of data reporting.
  • Train staff on state reporting deadlines and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Robust quantitative and analytical skills with large datasets.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboarding, preferably with Tableau.
  • Proficiency in data analysis languages (SQL, Python).
  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments.
  • Experience in education or non-profit sectors preferred.
