Nature Communications is a leading multidisciplinary Open Access journal that is continually advancing by publishing exceptional scientific research. We are seeking an editor with a meticulous eye for detail, a profound subject understanding, and nimble thought processes to elevate our journal's success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage original research papers, collaborate on the editorial process, ensuring a rigorous manuscript selection and peer review.
  • Make educated editorial decisions with well-founded expert advice.
  • Engage with global scientific leaders and contribute editorially at international conferences and research institutions.
  • Create and curate Editorials and Reviews.

Candidate Profile

  • Required: A PhD or equivalent in neuroimaging, cognitive or clinical neuroscience.
  • Preferred: Prior research experience with a robust understanding of the field’s current trends.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ready to travel globally to connect with scientists and convey our editorial vision.
  • Editorial experience is beneficial but not mandatory; extensive experience may lead to Senior Editor consideration.

This role reports to the Chief Editor in the neuroscience division and is based in our offices in New York, Philadelphia, Berlin, or Shanghai. Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the chosen location. The role is permanent and full-time, with an expected start date within the coming months.
