About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Data Developer to join our Finance team in the Brisbane Office. You will report to the Business Intelligence Technology Leader (Finance) and focus on understanding and engineering data flows within the Finance BI landscape, particularly the Insight reporting system. You will collaborate with other Data Developers, Visualisation and End-User Reporting Developers, Product Management, and various Finance teams both locally and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the robustness and accuracy of Insight data processes, from source data ingestion to reporting and front-end systems.
• Maintain existing data processes to ensure efficiency and performance as directed by the BI Data Lead.
• Enhance data processes to meet evolving business requirements.
• Develop new data processes to support new and changing business requirements.
• Refine Agile Stories related to data process development.
• Ensure effective handover of support processes across time zones.

EA Compliance

• Document programming design and process-analysis work.
• Document support processes related to Insight's operational performance.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, project, and product teams to maintain consistency with enterprise architecture, consulting as needed.

About You

• Strong background in data manipulation, SQLScript programming, star schema data structures, and data modeling for reporting.
• Experience with building SAP calculation views to support tools like Business Objects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
• Good working knowledge of SAP HANA within a SUSE Linux environment.
• Experience with using HANA in Azure as a native application.
• Experience working remotely as part of a larger team, with strong representation skills.
• Desirable: Practical experience with Python in a HANA environment.
• Ability to translate business issues into technical solutions.
• Experience collaborating with Product Management to derive effective solutions.
• Practical experience in a Scrum Agile development environment.
• Ability to perform code reviews.
• Understanding of integrating external data sources into the BI architecture.
• Desirable: Knowledge of integration between Business Objects and SAP HANA.
• Understanding of related disciplines such as Master Data Management (MDM), Metadata Management, and Data Governance.
• Familiarity with information management practices, IT services management, infrastructure, and operations.
• Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for team-developed solutions.
• Desirable: Experience working within a corporate Finance department.
