About the role: Hello Heart is expanding and seeks a Clinical Research Scientist to aid our scientific publication efforts. In this capacity, you will be responsible for the complete process of creating peer-reviewed publications. This includes background research, hypothesis creation, data preparation and statistical analysis, writing drafts, incorporating feedback from co-authors, and responding to anonymous peer reviews. This role is part of the Medical Affairs Team and works closely with leadership, data science, product, and sales teams to prioritize publications on scientific topics that align with Hello Heart’s mission. Responsibilities: Involved in all facets of 5-10 publications annually, including: - Securing IRB approval or a waiver when necessary - Actively cooperating with leadership to prioritize research topics - Identifying the appropriate data set, conducting statistical analyses - Quickly drafting manuscripts - Collaborating with co-authors to incorporate their feedback and finalize manuscripts - Choosing suitable journals based on impact factor and review time for each project - Promptly addressing anonymous peer reviews, including re-analysis and revisions, to ensure swift re-submission Identify relevant meetings to attend and submit abstracts to present ongoing work Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders at outside academic institutions and professional organizations to facilitate collaborations and co-author papers on joint research projects. Stay up to date with the latest scientific research findings in the field Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Strong interest in and history of publishing scientific research articles in peer-reviewed journals - Clinical/medical research background (Masters or PhD level with 5+ years of experience) - Ability to identify and perform appropriate statistical analyses or know when outside support is required to conduct the best statistical models - Experience in receiving and incorporating feedback on writing and research studies - Previous experience of attending and presenting (poster/oral presentations) research at scientific conferences Preferred Qualifications: - Co-authorship of 30+ publications - Proven track record of publishing research on behavioral health, cardiovascular health/disease, digital health management, and/or chronic diseases/disorders - Demonstrated ability to collaborate with outside institutions based on multi-site or multi-disciplinary co-author teams on prior peer-reviewed publications or funded grant applications - Eagerness to connect and collaborate with researchers from different backgrounds and expertise - Experience of working with commercial or industry partners on publications/studies Hello Heart offers a positive, diverse, and supportive culture.
