Job Overview
The Analytics Lead is responsible for developing and executing a vision for how data, information, and insights can drive profitable growth for The Ambr Group's family of brands. This role involves managing data infrastructure, centralizing and transforming data, and making it accessible to stakeholders. You will lead a remote, geographically dispersed team and report to the Chief Financial Officer. We welcome candidates living within ±3 hours of the US Central time zone.
Key Responsibilities
Data Infrastructure
- Define the analytics reference architecture and create a 12-month roadmap.
- Provide leadership and project management for engineering projects aligned with that roadmap.
- Monitor data availability and accessibility.
- Establish a data governance process.
- Collaborate with brand managers to identify new data sources that can drive growth.
- Evaluate the cost-benefit of ingesting, transforming, and using new data sources.
Reporting
- Work with stakeholders to define standard business performance reports.
- Deliver business performance updates via Slack, emails, and presentations.
Strategy and Analysis
- Develop measurement frameworks for analyzing common business activities.
- Partner with brand managers to plan and formalize experiments to improve business results.
- Encourage the discipline of measurement and leveraging insights across the brand portfolio.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Analytics.
- Technical proficiency in Python, SQL, dbt, Fivetran, Snowflake, Looker.
- Experience with Amazon marketplace and DTC datasets (Shopify, Google Ads, Meta, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Prior project management experience with the ability to balance scope, schedule, and budget.
- A passion for data and analytics within e-commerce and a strong interest in e-commerce brand performance.
First 30 Days
- Understand the current reporting and analysis footprint across the company.
- Get familiar with API-based data sources, Snowflake, DBT, Looker, FiveTran.
- Meet with stakeholders to understand common questions and analysis patterns.
- Formulate a vision for the data and analytics department and propose projects to achieve it.
Next 6 Months
- Present and build support for the analytics vision.
- Maintain and manage a robust backlog of data and reporting features.
- Optimize standard analytic frameworks for key decisions.
