ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are looking for a Data Developer to join our team of data science experts and engineers to work on improving ancillary revenue products for airlines, cruise companies, hotels, and rail operators. The Data Engineer will be tasked with developing and maintaining data products, data pipelines, and data management solutions that enable our company to make the best business decisions. Also, the Data Developer collaborates with the Product and Sales teams to help them understand their data needs, communicate these needs, and provide technical advice to developer teams.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and data management solutions that enable the company to make the best business decisions.
• Work with a team of data scientists and developers to identify necessary data, verify their accuracy in a data pipeline for ML purposes.
• Leverage data both in batch processing and in streaming processing using big data tools.
• Monitor and optimize the data pipeline to meet service level objectives.
• Collaborate with the Product and Sales teams to help them understand their data needs, communicate these needs, and provide technical advice to developer teams.
• Collaborate with various developer teams (Development, QA, Platform, etc.) to ensure that the required data are captured, actionable, and of high quality.
• Automate monitoring using real-time data to help identify potential issues in key business KPIs.
• Participate in the design and implementation of data engineering projects.
YOU ARE SOMEONE WITH:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or a related field
• 2 to 5 years of experience in a data developer role
• Excellent mastery of SQL and programming skills in Python and/or Java
• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining distributed systems
• Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes using big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and/or Flink
• Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse Analytics
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
PREFERRED:
• Experience in data exploration, machine learning, or deep learning
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with real-time processing technologies such as Apache Kafka, Kinesis, or Spark Streaming
• Experience with data cataloging tools such as Alation or Collibra
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
