About the Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our dynamic team, to work on our existing data platforms, and to provide reporting capabilities to various sectors of the business in collaboration with key stakeholders.

You are someone who thrives on solving complex problems using data, engaging with business stakeholders, defining problem statements, resolving customer concerns, and coordinating the development and release of features and fixes. Your strong technical skills coupled with communication abilities enable your contribution to the creation and maintenance of best-in-class data solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to the architecture and optimization of data infrastructure using big data cloud technologies within GCP and AWS to enable data-driven decision-making and meaningful insights for our customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Implement data warehousing best practices with BigQuery, including data partitioning and clustering to optimize query performance and cost.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL data pipelines using best-practice methods and tooling to integrate large volumes of data from diverse internal and external sources.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing product teams, internal teams, and other business stakeholders to convert data-related needs into technical requirements and dashboard designs.
  • Address data-related issues and incidents, including customer support requests, investigate and rectify data discrepancies and anomalies to ensure data accuracy.

About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Over 3 years of experience in data engineering using data warehouse cloud technologies, with a focus on designing and implementing solutions on Google Cloud Platform and/or Amazon Web Services.
  • Strong proficiency in GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Data Catalog.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration techniques.
  • Experience using Python to develop scripts and small programs for job orchestration and/or data manipulation, including familiarity with modules like Pandas, NumPy and PySpark.
  • Extensive experience with SQL, focusing on analyzing and validating complex and disparate data sets.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Looker, PowerBI, or Tableau.
  • Strong hands-on technical skills, capable of guiding in troubleshooting and delivering business features independently.
  • Proficient in working with DevOps tools, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate well within a team environment, and capability to articulate data to key stakeholders.


Desirable Skills

  • Prior experience with building and maintaining Looker dashboards, reports, and data exploration tools.
  • Previous experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, EMR.
