Data Engineer - Analytics Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer specializing in Analytics at Meta, you will:

  • Design, model, and implement data warehousing solutions to drive impactful, informed decision-making.
  • Develop sophisticated data models and visualizations supporting various use cases across multiple products or domains.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to interpret data needs and represent key insights visually.
  • Define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for all data sets within your area of responsibility.
  • Create frameworks to enhance data logging efficiency, working with data infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Implement robust security models based on privacy requirements, ensuring data quality and evolving governance processes.
  • Address complex data integration challenges using optimal ETL patterns, frameworks, and query techniques from various data sources.
  • Optimize data pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems for easier development of data artifacts.
  • Proactively identify data opportunities and influence product and cross-functional teams to drive impactful decisions.
  • Tackle diverse problems requiring in-depth data analysis and evaluation of identifiable factors.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
  • Three years of work experience in a computer-related occupation.
  • Experience in:
    • Features, design, and use-case scenarios within a big data ecosystem.
    • Custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance.
    • Object-oriented programming languages.
    • Schema design and dimensional data modeling.
    • SQL statements.
    • Data analysis for identifying deliverables, gaps, and inconsistencies.
    • Data Warehouse management and client communication.
    • MapReduce or MPP systems.
    • Python programming.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $209,720 to $235,400 per year, along with bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
