Job Description

As a Data Engineer Associate at Northwestern Medicine, you will embrace our mission, vision, and values, adhere to our Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and help us maintain the highest standards by complying with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

The Data Engineer Associate will:

• Deliver data warehouse and analytic solutions by integrating and curating data, building analytical solutions, and managing system administration to optimize information delivery across the health system.
• Utilize relational database skills with comprehensive SQL knowledge for query creation and execution of stored procedures.
• Collaborate with the Architecture team to design and execute sustainable solutions, ensuring consistency with data architecture standards.
• Create and communicate integration approaches, defining key solutions for user consumption and cross-team management.
• Engage in ETL design and development including data analysis, source-target mapping, and quality profiling.
• Analyze data quality and interpret results in a clear and concise manner, documenting all relevant changes and maintaining system modifications.

Qualifications:

Required:

• 0 – 3+ years of experience in querying, analyzing data, or working in data modeling/architecture.
• Proven experience with ETL/data pipeline development and maintenance.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
• Familiarity with data visualization and report writing tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and SSRS.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
