About the Role

ANZ's Data Capability tribe seeks a skilled Data Engineer to elevate our Australia Retail & Commercial division. Positioned within our dynamic team, the engineer will craft innovative data processing solutions crucial for analytics and rapid decision-making. This role is central to fostering a solid data culture and setting benchmarks for best practices within the tribe.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, you will be:

• Designing scalable data structures for various tech stacks, supporting data ingestion, integration, and analytics.
• Collaborating in a cross-functional team to develop comprehensive features.
• Enhancing data flow through robust, fault-tolerant data pipelines that organize and transform raw data into structured databases.
• Driving the data engineering agenda while adhering to ANZ architectural standards to ensure optimal end-to-end data engineering solutions.
• Utilizing your expertise to source data, create models, and provide insights that address business queries.

What You'll Bring

Your technical background includes:

• An MS or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability in building quality, scalable data pipelines.
• Experience in one high-level programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Proficiency in high-volume data processing environments like Teradata, Cloudera, or Big Query.
• Strong capability in translating data insights into actionable business recommendations.

Additional requisites include a robust understanding of distributed computing fundamentals and CI/CD deployment methodologies.
