We are searching for a skilled Data Engineer to aid in the collection of mission critical and support data sets. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisting with cyber and/or network related tasks within the military realm, in roles such as a developer, analyst or engineer. The candidate must be amenable to work in a hybrid role with some on-site responsibilities alongside a proficient team.
Capabilities
- The perfect candidate will have experience dealing with big data systems, intricate structured and unstructured data sets, and will have assisted in government data collection, analysis, and/or sharing efforts previously
- To excel in this role, the candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, comprehend technical nuances, and display eagerness to learn and adapt to different situations
- The candidate will be required to work both independently and within a large team to achieve client goals
Required Qualifications
- Security Clearance - A current Secret level security clearance is mandatory and consequently all candidates must be U.S. Citizens
- 5 years' experience as a developer, analyst, or engineer with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR 3 years' relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; OR a High School Diploma or equivalent with 9 years' relevant experience
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and Java
- Proficiency in data acquisition and comprehension of network data and the associated metadata
- Proficiency in data extraction, translation, and loading including data preparation and labeling to facilitate data analytics
- Experience with Kibana and Elasticsearch
- Familiar with various log formats such as JSON, XML, etc.
- Experience in managing data flow, management, and storage solutions (i.e. Kafka, NiFi, and AWS S3 and SQS solutions)
- Capability to break down technical issues and troubleshoot system and dataflow problems
- Candidate must be willing to work on-site in a hybrid role with a capable team
Desired Technical Skills
- Experience with NOSQL databases such as Accumulo is desired
- Prior experience in supporting cyber and/or network security operations within a large enterprise, in the capacity of an analyst, engineer, architect, or developer is advantageous
