Role Purpose

The Data Engineer III will advance our data handling capabilities, focusing on improving the fitness of data used across our analytical and decision-making platforms. This role involves leading a dynamic team of data engineers to build robust data pipelines, manage vast datasets, and ensure exceptional data quality and integrity across our source systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed analysis of data inflow trends and quality, identifying critical growth points and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data quality checks and reconcile data across various platforms to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Mature and champion data governance processes, proving expertise in metadata management, data lineage, and user access controls.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of data standards and policies.
  • Mentor junior specialists, fostering an environment of continuous learning and adherence to industry-standard data quality practices.
  • Leverage advanced AI tools to establish robust preventative actions for enhancing operational performance and data standards compliance.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

  • A deep understanding of data quality management, governance standards, and related technologies with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with large data sets, SQL optimization, and programming in Python, PySpark, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with cloud data engineering on platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Proven leadership skills in a complex global organization and ability to operate in a matrixed environment.
  • Practical knowledge of Data Quality frameworks (DAMA, DCAM) and experience in implementing test automation tools.
