Your role

As a Data Engineer, you will:

  • Design and implement solutions regarding data warehouse implementation, which includes architecture, ETL processes, multidimensional modeling, and implementation of data marts (both international and local).
  • Work within interdisciplinary teams that mesh technical, business, and data science competencies and deliver work through agile methodologies (at client locations, remotely, or a mix of both).
  • Your accountability, responsibility, and autonomy will depend on your experience and level - we're open to both experienced professionals and emerging talents.

More specifically, your tasks will include

  • Experience with data modeling, understanding of dimensional and/or relational and/or data vault modeling approaches, and the ability to create conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Ability to select from the skills above and apply them to real-life business cases, especially in the banking and insurance industry
  • Analyzing and interpreting various data from internal and external sources to derive meaningful insights
  • Identifying, discussing, and communicating requirements in a structured and persuasive manner
  • Leading the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and comprehend data requirements
  • Optimizing data infrastructure for performance and scalability
  • Ensuring data quality, consistency, and security

What we are looking for

  • Proficiency in data management and well-developed SQL skills in at least one of the leading database technologies such as Oracle, MSSQL, Teradata, DB2. Familiarity with procedural extensions such as embedded procedures, functions, packages, triggers,
  • Good command of DWH subjects such as denormalization, uni- and bi-temporal historization, SCD 1, SCD2, design and implementation of data marts, fact/dimension/transaction tables, views, indexes, data harmonization and standardization, data processing and business metadata management,
  • Experience with ETL tools such as SAS Data Integration Studio, IBM Datastage, Informatica, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services,
  • Good command of English (knowledge of an additional language, like German, would be nice but is not necessary)
  • Great team player (experience working in international teams would be nice)
  • Constant readiness to develop in the areas of data analytics and to deepen practical knowledge of tools such as R, Python, SAS
  • Experience in developing data warehouse applications, having participated in selected or all phases of data warehouse/data mart development lifecycle, and ability to showcase experiences of architecture creation, design, development, implementation, administration or migration,
  • Very strong educational background in IT or a quantitative discipline (such as Engineering, Mathematics etc.),
  • Knowledge of RDBMS, Oracle or SQL Server, MS SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), Batch Processes, Models,
  • Eagerness to contribute in a team-oriented environment,
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving setting,
