Job Description

Your new role and how you'll make a difference 
As a Data Engineer in our Modelling team, you'll find yourself in a unique position where you can both contribute and grow. Located at the crossroad of the business, data scientists, and project teams, you’ll play a crucial role in enhancing our data capabilities. While you'll face engaging challenges, you'll also be in a learning and mentorship-based environment, making it ideal for those wanting to solidify and expand their data engineering skills.


You’ll be part of a diversified team of data scientists working across various areas of the business. Every day is different, and you’ll face complex challenges to solve quickly and accurately. The value-add tasks you’ll undertake

  • Designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure, including data pipelines and our cloud-based data warehouse.
  • Integrating diversified data from both cloud and in-house sources, leading the development of innovative data products and functions.
  • Writing and updating high-quality code to meet core business objectives and minimize errors and risk.
  • Advocating intra-team improvements in data engineering capabilities through efficient communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

The experience and qualifications you’ll require to be successful

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a commercial data engineering or closely related role.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of cloud platforms, with hands-on experience in AWS and/or Azure.
  • Demonstrated experience with top cloud data warehouse platforms.
  • High-level proficiency in writing code in Python.
  • Expertise in SQL, inclusive of query optimization.
  • Proven track record in designing, managing, and supervising data pipelines.
  • Practical knowledge of serverless architectures.
  • Practical knowledge of version control.
  • Comfortable with the software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Tech Stack:

  • Specific AWS Services: Experience with specific AWS services, particularly S3, Lambda, EC2, SQS, SageMaker, CodeCommit, CodeDevelopment, CodePipeline, CloudFormation, KMS, and IAM.
  • Snowflake: Hands-on experience with the Snowflake platform.
  • Comfortable with Terraform.
  • Familiarity with Azure.
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana, primarily for maintenance purposes.
