Job Description

This role accentuates implementation and upkeep of our data catalogue, lineage and classification including participation in the initial deployment of the solution.

You will help mold the data environment at Shawbrook, collaborating within the Data team with analysts for defining, developing, and detailing our automation of financial crime data.

Within our Data Engineering platform, you will be processing and combining data from close to 70 different sources, to create automation for the financial crime team, empowering them to undertake insightful analysis.

Our Data teams are expanding and this role will be a key participant in promoting best practices within the team. You will champion high-quality criteria and controls on accessing, moving, storing, interpreting, sanitizing, governing, and organizing data.

Qualifications

Skills expected from a successful applicant;

  • Proven implementations in code-based (Python or analogous) end-to-end Data engineering solutions with stringent version management and testing.
  • You will utilize SQL and serverless SQL with databases in the meta layer to consolidate and standardize data from several sources.
  • Thorough comprehension of core Cloud Data Engineering technologies. The Bank leverages Azure (SQL Server MI, Data Factory, Synapse), you may have other Cloud backgrounds with similar demonstrable proficiency.
  • You will continuously engage with varied teams and stakeholders to steer technical discussions, encourage best practices and ensure our data norms are absorbed and appreciated across the institution.
