About the Role

Position: Data Governance Analyst - Assistant Vice President

Department: Data and Analytics

iCapital is actively seeking a dynamic and adaptive Data Governance Analyst - Assistant Vice President to join our Data and Analytics team. In this pivotal role, you will support our Data Governance and Data Management program, focusing on enhancing our core data assets. You will collaborate with leaders across the organization to manage a data domain, establish a governance committee, and oversee our data catalog.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework.
  • Advocate and drive the adoption of the data governance framework across divisions.
  • Establish data quality standards and metrics in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong business and technology stakeholder relationships to complete data projects.
  • Create and maintain a data dictionary for the assigned data domain.
  • Monitor compliance and progress within the data domain to achieve governance goals.
  • Develop processes and company-wide roles to meet data governance policy expectations.
  • Negotiate data ownership with data consumers and producers.
  • Support the system of record as a “single source of truth” for each data element.
  • Manage, manipulate, and capture data effectively.
  • Facilitate communication regarding strategies, priorities, and issues.
  • Ensure data ownership and quality within business units.
  • Promote organizational behavior change related to data usage.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; alternatively, 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in data governance, data quality, or data management.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet, presentation, and dashboard tools, with a quick adaptation to new changes and challenges.
  • 3+ years of experience in the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Credible across both business and IT domains.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, data, and systems landscape.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

Benefits

The base range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000. Our compensation package includes salary, equity for full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus. Additionally, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including an employer-matched retirement plan, subsidized healthcare (including dental, vision, telemedicine, and virtual mental health counseling), parental leave, and unlimited paid time off (PTO).
