MSIG North America is expanding, and we're on the lookout for a seasoned Product Owner to join our dynamic and innovative team. This role involves working within cross-functional stable pods in an agile environment, tasked with driving the vision, strategy, and roadmap for designated product pods. Key to success in this role will be your ability to collaborate across the organization to deliver high-quality products that bring significant value.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Planning (15% of the time)

As a Product Owner, you will:

• Work hand-in-hand with the Product Manager to articulate and communicate the product vision, goals, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Develop and maintain a detailed product roadmap outlining crucial milestones, deliverables, and release schedules.
• Utilize data to inform product decisions, identify opportunities, and prioritize tasks, ensuring a deep understanding of the product.
• Monitor and analyze key performance metrics and user feedback to evaluate product success and impact.

Backlog Management (35% of the time)

Your duties will include:

• Prioritizing and updating the product backlog to reflect current priorities aligned with the overarching product strategy.
• Refining user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring the backlog items are development-ready.
• Regularly reviewing backlog priorities based on stakeholder input and team capacity.
• Maintaining a balance between short-term and long-term goals by managing, grooming, and prioritizing the backlog items.

Stakeholder Collaboration (25% of the time)

This involves:

• Conducting regular meetings and presentations for stakeholders to keep all parties informed on product progress, challenges, and future plans.
• Serving as the primary liaison between stakeholders and development teams, ensuring alignment on priorities and objectives.
• Soliciting feedback from stakeholders and customers to inform product enhancements, promoting a customer-centric approach.
• Collaborating with the scrum master and development team to remove impediments and ensure seamless sprint execution.

Sprint Planning and Review (25% of the time)

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading or participating in sprint planning sessions to define goals, review backlog items, and ensure team clarity on priorities.
• Actively engaging in sprint reviews and retrospectives to assess progress, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborating with agile development partners to deliver MVPs and features iteratively.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a related role.
• 2-3 years of experience in Commercial Property and Casualty insurance.
• Proficiency with Agile development methodologies.
