Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Quality Issues Management Lead to join our Data Quality Management team. In this pivotal role, you will lead forums with key business and technical stakeholders to document, assess, and remediate data quality issues. Your responsibilities will include managing resources, optimizing efficiency, and collaborating with database developers to enhance a proprietary workflow application. You will support the Data Quality Framework within the Data Governance program, ensuring adherence to standards and collaboration across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead communication of Data Quality (DQ) Issue governance across the Americas Division.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Data Domain Executives (EDME) to prioritize and resolve DQ Issues.
• Ensure adherence to Data Quality Issue Management Standard.
• Partner with IT/JRIA to enhance the DQIM application continuously.
• Lead team of Analysts in reviewing DQ Issues to drive analysis and resolution.
• Evolve and refresh DQIM Standards and Procedures to address audits.
• Produce monthly summary and detailed reports on data quality issues for senior management.
• Promote a culture of Data Quality through various communication and training initiatives.
• Develop process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Provide DQIM training and presentations to key internal stakeholders.
• Support regulatory needs and facilitate DQ issues remediation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience with Data Quality Issue Management including documentation, root cause analysis, and remediation.
• Strong relationship management and influencing skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey concepts in both technical and user-friendly language.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Excel (PowerBI), MS Project, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with JIRA Issue and Project Tracking application and knowledge of SDLC phases and processes.
• Ability to write SQL queries (table joins, ETL) and perform data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• 7 to 10 years of specialized experience in Financial Services.
• Knowledge of Data Issue Management workflows, Advanced Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Visio.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $129,000.00 and $185,000.00. The specific salary offered will depend on individual qualifications and market conditions. This role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive benefits portfolio.
