Our team is rapidly growing and we are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to aid our customer and join our dedicated team of high-impact problem solvers. We enjoy tackling challenges related to human-centered design, security, and scale to provide improved outcomes for our federal agency partners. We prioritize remote work and entirely operate in the open source.

About the role:

As a Data Scientist, you will be performing tasks associated with data analysts and conducting more advanced analyses, e.g., predictive models, quasi-causal analyses, qualitative analyses, and advanced machine learning methods. You will also develop and deliver data capacity building content for internal non-technical audiences, including 1:1 mentorship and formal training, written references.

What we are looking for:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a data scientist and fluency in , R, and/or Python
  • Substantial experience in applying statistical techniques like regression, clustering, etc.
  • Strong understanding of databases, data modeling, and data structures
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or similar
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Cloud-based systems and/or AI/Machine Learning Development
  • A commitment to learn and implement software development best practices
  • Achieve Security+ within the first 90 days of employment with Raft
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Highly preferred:

  • Proven history of working independently and managing projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to advise non-technical teams on advanced data topics including but not only data strategy, applications of emerging data methods and technologies, and privacy management

Clearance Requirements:

  • Capacity to acquire and maintain a public trust security clearance
