Role Overview
QUALCO Centre for Applied Research and Technology (QART) is seeking ML/AI specialists of all seniority levels to join our rapidly expanding team. At QART, we focus on Time-series analysis and the mathematical modelling of physical systems (Digital Twins) through sensor data collection. Our initiatives include signal conditioning, missing value imputation, and deep learning for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and process optimisation.
A Day in the Life of a Data Scientist at QUALCO
- Conducting exploratory data analysis and model-fitting to reveal data features of interest.
- Identifying and analysing anomalous data, including metadata.
- Developing conceptual designs and models to meet project requirements.
- Applying qualitative and quantitative methods to characterise datasets.
- Performing analytic modelling, scripting, and programming.
- Creating and using simulation environments.
- Employing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for visualization and user interaction.
- Collaborating iteratively throughout the data-science lifecycle.
- Documenting and communicating research processes, analyses, and results to customers, peers, and leadership.
- Ensuring all duties comply with regulatory requirements and supporting the implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.
Requirements
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications in relevant areas are highly desirable.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in designing/implementing machine learning, data mining, advanced analytical algorithms, data science, advanced statistical analysis, or artificial intelligence. Proven experience in deep learning is recommended.
- Programming skills in Matlab and/or Python or similar languages.
- Familiarity with Scikit-learn, Keras/Tensorflow, PyTorch, and other machine-learning frameworks.
- Knowledge of SQL.
- Attributes of tenacity, integrity, persistence, and a willingness to learn.
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and reasoning abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluency in Greek and English, both spoken and written.
