The Opportunity
Capco’s global Data Practice team of over 800 data practitioners helps financial institutions become data-driven by transforming their understanding, management, storage, and use of data to create value for themselves and their customers. Our team collaborates with clients to formulate specific, actionable, and efficient data strategies that deliver sustainable business outcomes. We then put these strategies into action, designing and implementing innovative data capabilities that focus on efficiency and scalability, and forming partnerships with leading vendors and industry bodies.
Drawing from our deep domain and business expertise, we design and implement modern data platforms and curated data products, focusing on automation and data management. We partner with business, operations, and technology teams to incorporate these capabilities into normal business operations.
Your Role
As a Data Strategy and Transformation Consultant, you will join Capco’s Data Strategy & Advisory team. Leveraging your extensive data expertise, you will define clear, actionable data strategies that sustainably drive business outcomes for our clients. Your responsibilities will depend on specific client requirements, but could include:
- Assisting in defining the client’s data strategy, including its vision, objectives, and key results (OKRs).
- Providing a clear and impartial assessment of client data capability levels.
- Facilitating interviews and workshops to identify client pain points and root causes.
- Developing the data strategy business case and strategic roadmaps.
- Reviewing existing client data processes, tools, and governance, and making recommendations for improvement.
- Assisting in defining the client's data Target Operating Model (TOM) - including process design, roles and responsibilities, and governance needed for BAU.
- Assisting in defining data policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Assisting with data architecture reviews by advising on data management solutions.
You will also contribute to the development of the Data Strategy & Advisory capability within Capco in the following ways:
- Identifying and researching business development opportunities, and aiding in the development of client proposals and bids.
- Contributing to discussions in your professional field, both internally and externally.
- Developing data methodologies and accelerators to enhance Capco’s delivering capability.
- Assisting in training Capco staff in data methodologies.
Your Skills and Experience
Most importantly, you should have a passion for data and a knack for problem-solving and facilitating change to help clients achieve their business objectives. To qualify for the role, you should have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Data Strategy and/or Data Management.
- A strong understanding of Data Strategy, Data Management, and Data Analytics principles, and one or more of several common Data Management methodologies and capability models.
- Experience in facilitating maturity assessments, understanding clients' strategic objectives and pain points, and providing actionable recommendations.
