Developer Advocate Responsibilities

As a Developer Advocate at Meta, you will:

• Create code samples, demos, and articles by collaborating with product and engineering teams to relay third-party feedback.
• Present technical sessions at conferences, conduct workshops, and host hands-on hackathons.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of various open-source projects, guiding them from incubation to public release.
• Design core backend software components primarily using C/C++, Python, and Java.
• Develop deep learning demos utilizing the latest features in PyTorch and other Meta open-source projects, accompanied by tutorials and educational content.
• Collaborate with other teams to integrate innovative solutions.
• Drive community engagement for high-profile open-source projects to enhance brand awareness and reach.
• Conduct design and code reviews, and enhance system efficiency, scalability, and stability.
• Build large-scale server applications, maintain open-source projects, and implement efficiency strategies to streamline Meta’s open-source program processes.
• Engage actively with developer communities to elevate awareness of Meta’s technology stacks, software techniques, and trends.
• Partner with internal teams to articulate open-source strategies across various projects and improve operational effectiveness.

Telecommuting from any location within the US is permitted for this role.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Candidates should have completed coursework, research projects, internships, or theses in:

• Software engineering
• Statistics and data science
• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning research
• Public speaking
• Teaching
• Use of or contribution to open-source software

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $192,603/year to $234,630/year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
