Job Summary:

As the Director of Innovation at WES, you will lead the integration of cutting-edge technology solutions into our core business processes. Your expertise in data analytics and artificial intelligence will be pivotal in transforming data into actionable insights, optimizing pipeline operations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of innovative strategies leveraging data analytics and AI to improve decision-making and operational performance.
• Drive digital innovation and influence strategic technology direction, including Cloud migration, DevOps, advanced analytics, AI, and agile methodologies.
• Assess the digital footprint and develop short and long-term plans for improvements. Deliver proposals and recommendations that drive understanding and buy-in for digital investments.
• Align technology/digital initiatives and strategies with broader business priorities and opportunities through engagement and collaboration.
• Foster effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating problem-solving and continuous improvement in managing technology risk and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for technology integration that align with business objectives.
• Oversee data analytics platforms and AI systems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and efficient.
• Drive the adoption of advanced analytics and machine learning models to predict trends, optimize workflows, and mitigate risks.
• Establish a framework for evaluating new technologies and their potential impact on the business.
• Foster a culture of innovation by mentoring team members and encouraging creative problem-solving.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver technology solutions that provide a competitive edge.
• Implement the enterprise-wide AI strategy in alignment with business goals and objectives.
• Provide guidance on AI governance procedures.
• Establish partnerships with external vendors, research institutions, and associations to enhance WES's role in leveraging AI.
• Ensure data privacy and security in AI implementations.
• Lead teams of AI professionals, providing mentorship and guidance as needed.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technology leadership role with a proven track record in data analytics and AI.
• Strong understanding of mid-stream pipeline operations and the energy sector.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex business technology solutions.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools, AI algorithms, and machine learning techniques.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and drive change.
• Strategic thinking, analytical mindset, and problem-solving capabilities.
• A proven track record of delivering innovative, game-changing business solutions.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Travel Requirements

Travel will be required up to 5%.

Work Schedule

This position requires working 9 hours Monday through Thursday, and 4 hours on Friday, with in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at The Woodlands office.
