Job Description

Your mission

You will have to design and understand the full journey of data science solutions, including architecture, development, delivery, and adoption. You will also actively participate in the direction of data science practice for projects in risk management, statistics, and forecasts.

On the other hand, you will lead and orchestrate the contributions of direct reports from data scientists and other industry experts (for example, business intelligence engineers, data engineers, software engineers) regardless of daily management structure.

Additionally, you will aim to serve as a point of contact between the data team and product owners, providing technical clarity and driving the adoption of developed systems, tools, and models.

You will participate in business conversations as the responsible party at the technical level during the ideation and development of data science projects; you will also need to take ownership of the implementation of each team's development.

These are the roles you will have

--> Be able to translate business questions into analytical formulations and robust functional code.

--> Lead sessions and technical design documents and architecture of your team and contribute to discussions in other areas.

--> Conduct exploratory data analyses to understand implicit relationships in data and to be able to communicate in business-oriented language.

--> Design (from scratch) custom analytical models, using historical data to answer business questions.

--> Coordinate and lead functionally contributions from experts in other technologies such as data engineering and business intelligence in the creation and development of software.

--> Efficiently communicate relevant information to company stakeholders (Product Team, Stakeholders, Business Units) and other team members (Data Eng, BI Eng, Software Eng).

--> Lead the production of data products using technology such as Docker, Airflow, Python, and AWS effectively and efficiently, considering software architecture best practices and cost-benefit analysis.

--> Lead the process and the task planning team in the development of data products.

Requirements

What you need to apply

Be a professional in mathematics, statistics, physics, economics, engineering, or related fields. It's desirable to have specialized courses related to the area.

Minimum ten (10) years of experience in similar positions and experience managing technical teams in the field.

Work mode: On-site in Bogotá

--> Previous experience in using data and dashboards to tell coherent stories that answer business questions and deliver end-to-end data products.

--> Previous experience using Data Science and Big Data to solve business questions and deliver data products from inception to launch.

--> Experience leading and orchestrating data teams and projects focused on the production of Data-Science products

Additional Information

Technical Competencies

--> You must implement good programming practices.

--> It's important that you master Python, Pandas, Numpy, and Matplotlib / Plotly for data exploration and visualization.

--> We're looking for someone with mastery of at least one of the similar cloud providers like AWS, Azure, GCP.

--> It's desirable for you to master Shell and Linux based operating system scripts.

--> You must master SQL for analytical queries: Window Functions, Joins, Aggregations, Subqueries, INSERTS, UPDATE and CREATE.

--> The nature of the position implies that you have mastery of statistics and machine learning (ML).

--> We need you to have experience in creating and consuming APIs.

--> You should have good handling of code repositories (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket).
