We are seeking an Environmental Data Specialist to contribute to the core environmental monitoring programs within Auckland Council’s Environmental Evaluation and Monitoring team. Our team is responsible for monitoring and reporting on Auckland’s environment, including marine, freshwater, land, and air domains. We collect, analyze, and evaluate a wide range of environmental data to provide high-quality evidence and information to decision-makers and Aucklanders, assisting with policy development, strategy implementation, and program evaluation.
You hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in an environmental science field. You have a robust understanding of environmental processes, and experience in data management and analysis, with demonstrable statistical knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. An understanding of New Zealand’s regulatory framework and local government processes would be an advantage.
