Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled European Material Master Data Management Director. In this pivotal role, you'll lead our material master data department for the EMEA region, tailoring strategies for each Business Unit and adapting processes accordingly. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of material data governance and data quality, along with a proven track record of developing and executing master data strategies that align with business objectives.

Focusing on collaboration, the candidate should build robust connections with business units and leverage innovative technologies, automation, and AI to drive efficiency and innovation in master data management. They should be a true business partner with strong interpersonal and influence skills, and be capable of developing robust relationships with senior leadership while managing expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement a European product master data strategy connected with Customer and Business Unit needs, leveraging the latest technologies and automation. Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to understand their data requirements and provide strategic guidance on master data management to relevant Business Data Owners for each specific BU.

Business Unit Collaboration

Establish and cultivate relationships with business units to gain deep insights into their specific data needs and challenges. Collaborate closely with business leaders to align master data strategies with primary business goals and objectives, incorporating technological solutions where applicable.

Data Governance

Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards for product master data, ensuring alignment with business unit objectives and incorporating AI-driven governance solutions. Regularly engage with business units to assess the effectiveness of data governance policies and adjust as necessary by utilizing technological advancements. Ensure best practices related to Data Lifecycle Management (DLM) and Master Data Governance (quality, integrity, management, ownership).

Master Data Management

Design and implement robust processes for the creation, maintenance, and retirement of product master data, leveraging automation and AI technologies. Work collaboratively with business unit leaders to ensure the unified integration of master data management processes into their workflows, utilizing technology solutions.

Technology Integration

Collaborate with various teams to integrate product master data across multiple systems and platforms, ensuring technology solutions meet specific business needs. Evaluate and recommend innovative solutions that enhance collaboration and efficiency between master data management and business units.

Team Management

Lead and mentor a diverse team of over 30 professionals, fostering collaboration, teamwork, and a positive work culture. Execute initiatives aligned with organizational goals, manage resource allocation, and conduct performance evaluations. Play a key role in recruitment, onboarding, and conflict resolution, promoting transparent communication and proactive training for team development. Implement succession plans, ensuring a talented pipeline for future leadership roles within the team.
