Role Description

The Data and Configuration Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the EWIS – Joint and Air sustainment programs. This position involves applying in-depth configuration knowledge to bolster technical and engineering activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and compliance with relevant legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks.

Under broad direction, the Data and Configuration Manager is responsible for performing and overseeing complex technical configuration work within an integrated workforce. The role demands a thorough understanding of legislative frameworks, government decision-making processes, and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

Security Clearance

This role requires a minimum NV1 security clearance with the ability to obtain NV2.

Location

Primary location: Adelaide, SA (Canberra will also be considered).

Commitment

Full-time position, 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities and Required Skills

  • Provide administrative support to the Sustainment Management Unit (SMU).
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of engineering systems and processes.
  • Execute configuration activities in line with SAE 649C configuration principles.
  • Offer expert advice on Configuration Management and Data Management (CM/DM) to both technical and non-technical SMU members.
  • Monitor compliance with policies and procedures, addressing or escalating any issues.
  • Facilitate CM and DM audits.
  • Mentor the organization on CM/DM services, concepts, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the configuration control board (CCB) and implement changes as directed.
  • Demonstrate a solid grasp of Data Management principles.
  • Ensure Objective access and data storage comply with CASG QMSE standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience (Mandatory).
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Defence or a related technical industry (Desirable).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Mandatory).
