Key Responsibilities

As a Hardware Systems Foundation Engineer at Meta, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing modeling, simulation, test, and emulation platforms for Meta’s advanced machine learning systems.
• Designing, implementing, and supporting some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated systems.
• Influencing future system designs by specifying technical requirements and guiding industry standards and ecosystems.
• Collaborating across various projects within our AI Systems team to shape system design and development methodologies for hardware projects.
• Creating code and infrastructure for emulation, simulation, and validation platforms to derive performance criteria for our systems.
• Prototyping system bringup and testing.
• Cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting data from networks, test systems, and simulations.
• Defining and optimizing future network topologies, hardware components, and systems.
• Developing and validating tools, models, and algorithms for hardware components, systems, and distributed deep learning networks.
• Establishing tooling and practices to prototype test systems and correlate observed performance with simulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a PhD degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, alongside graduate-level coursework, research projects, or internships involving the following:

• Unix or Linux operating systems
• Proficiency in coding with C++ and Python
• Linux Networking and transport technologies
• Efficient modeling and simulation of distributed systems
• System test development, encompassing both hardware and software
• Rigorous data analysis and presentation skills, both written and verbal

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $213,291 to $231,110, in addition to bonus opportunities, equity options, and comprehensive benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This posting reflects the base annual salary only and does not include additional incentives.
