About the Role

Business Intelligence Engineers are key members of our balanced team model. They collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and software engineers to quantify the human experience of our technology-enabled services. By gathering data from various sources, developing insights, creating dashboards, and visualizing data, they help identify operational gaps.

Key Responsibilities

• Use tools, technologies, applications, and practices to collect, integrate, analyze, visualize, and communicate insightful and actionable business information from internal and external data.
• Advise product teams and stakeholders to develop functional strategies on matters of significance, spanning product design, sales & marketing, user experience, product performance, and clinical outcomes.
• Collaborate directly with product, design, engineering, and business stakeholders to derive data insights and make data-driven improvements.
• Generate ideas to shape future analytical projects and initiatives.
• Develop online dashboards and interactive reports to regularly communicate results.

Requirements

• Passion for learning and constant iteration.
• Experience manipulating data sets through software such as SQL, Python, SAS, or R.
• Experience analyzing data to solve various business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management, and technical projects or programs.
• Experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik for creating data visualizations.
• Willingness to travel as needed for team meetings (usually less than 5% travel).
• Ability to work 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the healthcare industry.

Work at Home Guidance

To ensure effective work-from-home operations, associates must have a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps. Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections require leadership approval. Associates living and working from home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi-weekly internet expense payment. Humana will provide necessary telephone equipment for remote work and expects work to be conducted from a dedicated, interruption-free space to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.

Compensation

The estimated starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment is $65,000 - $89,500 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance. The pay range may vary based on geographic location and individually demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
