As a Junior Data Scientist, you will support the development of analytic solutions across a wide array of applications, including credit, fraud, insurance, and marketing.
Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive new business initiatives and deliver long-term value-added solutions to TransUnion customers.
- Lead analytic client engagements by developing predictive models, business rules, and identity solutions for various industries served by TransUnion.
- Identify and promote strategies for customers to adopt TransUnion’s analytic products and services by developing project proposals and sales presentations.
- Design, write, and test programs for data extraction, segmentation, and statistical analysis using languages such as R, Python, SQL, Hive, and Spark.
- Deliver compelling presentations of analytic insights and recommendations to a wide range of audiences.
- Foster a high-performance culture and cultivate an environment that promotes excellence and aligns with the TransUnion brand.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Master's or PhD degree in statistics, applied mathematics, financial mathematics, computer science, engineering, operations research, or a related field, with at least one year of relevant professional experience; OR a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in building and deploying machine learning models through all development phases.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Advanced programming skills and proficiency with statistical programs such as R or Python.
- Experience with other programming languages and big data platforms (SQL, Hive, Spark, C/C++, Java).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred skills include fraud analytics experience, working in Agile teams, and cloud environment familiarity.

Pay Scale Information
The salary range for this position is $69,690.00 - $114,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for bonus incentives based on individual factors such as education, experience, and market considerations.
