Pele Green Energy is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven Junior Energy Data Analyst to aid the Construction and Engineering department in data analysis studies.
The Intern Data Analyst will help with data-intensive tasks – cleaning, coding, structuring databases, and examining and managing data in large data sets through thoughtful and rigorous approaches.
The Data Analyst will support Engineering outcomes by proactively considering engineered research questions and developing and implementing appropriate methodologies while ensuring data integrity. This role requires a balance of analytical skills.
The employee will report directly to the Senior Engineer.
Technical Scope
- Under direction, support various data needs through activities such as database design, data management, data cleaning, statistical modelling and interpreting results.
- Manage and transform survey, billing history, meter data, secondary demographic and other related data sets.
- Review data for accuracy, anomalies, unexpected patterns, and completeness.
- Run basic descriptive statistics and more advanced modelling using statistical software packages.
- Assist in developing templates and datasets for historical trending and predictive forecasting.
- Apply tools and techniques for data analysis and data visualisation (including the use of business information tools), such as graphical and text-based survey result summaries.
- Support the process of conducting and analysing yield simulations and energy resource assessments for solar PV, hybrid and wind technologies - to provide Project Development teams with accurate data inputs.
- Build durable models and the ability to turn data into intelligence (Machine Learning / AI applications).
Compliance Scope
- Support the maintenance of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Regularly update in-house templates or engineering documents.
- Maintain up to date project documents like issue logs, risk logs, and Question and Answer registers for technical scope of work.
- Perform market surveys, technology reviews and/or research by reviewing and summarising industry reports and vendor documents.
Requirements
- BTech, B.Eng or BSc(Eng) in Electrical, or Electronic Engineering (other streams can be motivated).
- Proficient in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Excel Power Query • Basic skills in R, Python, SQL or similar statistical software applications.
- Programming languages -C, C++, JavaScript, Assembly, MATLAB etc.
- Experience in cleaning, managing and transforming data sets, including making decisions on what to drop or retain. Sound understanding of Computer networking in both IT and OT environments.
- Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle.
- Self-starter, detail-oriented and thorough.
