Position Title: Junior Product Data Specialist - Product Information Management

Job Summary

The Junior Product Data Specialist will play a crucial role in driving Product Information Management (PIM) to support the company's vision and digital transformation. This role will focus on organizing, improving, and leveraging product content, making it easier for customers to research, compare, and purchase Kennametal products through their preferred channels.

You'll engage with global stakeholders, including internal teams, B2B distributors, external software integrations, and end customers, to prioritize tasks effectively and enhance product information creation, improvement, and syndication for maximum customer benefit.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure accurate and consistent setup of product names, descriptions, translations, attributes, drawings, images, and search components.
• Develop and govern product information guidelines, data standards, and dictionaries. Monitor, update, and enforce standards as needed. Empower business users to create compelling content and meet changing channel requirements.
• Maintain mapping of product database with third-party taxonomies and attributes.
• Support administering Stibo STEP Product Information Management system.
• Monitor product completeness and accuracy. Establish data standards and rules for data cleansing. Provide product data governance reporting.
• Coordinate product cleanup by monitoring technical and product support material and develop a process for updates. Proactively recommend enrichment improvements.
• Manage the product data request process, prioritizing requests based on effort and business value, and seek ways to improve efficiency.
• Design training materials on product master data governance philosophies, best practices, and the use of Kennametal’s PIM.

Years of Relevant Work Experience Required

Preferred Areas of Education, Certifications, and Skills

• Knowledge of the metal cutting industry, Kennametal products, and systems.
• Experience with metal cutting tools in various industrial scenarios.
• Proficiency in PIM, MDM, or similar database software (e.g., Stibo Systems, SAP MDG, Riversand, InRiver, Salsify). Experience with Stibo Systems preferred.
• Successful track record of achieving milestones while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with various stakeholders on technical projects.
• Strong service orientation towards internal stakeholders and customers.
• Strong work ethic, curiosity, and results-driven attitude.
• Fluent in English.
