About the Team

The Life & Health Operational Excellence & Analytics team is a global unit focusing on three main areas: End-to-End Operating Platform, Data Analytics, and Data Governance and Reporting. Comprising around 20 colleagues across six Swiss Re offices in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia, the team aims to ensure the delivery of precise, consistent, and timely data to meet business needs. We drive continuous improvement and implement innovative projects and processes, embracing the latest technology systems and tools.

Responsibilities

As an L&H Data Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the implementation of Group data governance standards within L&H globally.
  • Developing and implementing L&H Re data governance frameworks and related projects.
  • Identifying and enhancing areas for data governance framework improvements.
  • Building and maintaining comprehensive documentation of the L&H data governance framework.
  • Supporting a global network of data owners and stewards.
  • Assisting the Domain Data Governance Representative with data compliance topics such as Data Protection, Access Management, and Cross-Border Data Transfer.
  • Embedding end-to-end data governance principles and managing data quality monitoring.
  • Collaborating with IT, business partners, and other data governance colleagues to elevate data maturity and quality across L&H globally.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A background in data-related roles and/or governance-related projects.
  • A passion for developing and driving governance initiatives, with a willingness to learn and an adaptable, “can-do” attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • High motivation with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • The capability to work independently as well as within global teams.
  • Experience in project management and process improvements is a plus.

Work Environment

Swiss Re offers a hybrid work model where the expectation is that employees will be in the office two to three days per week on average. Please note that this role does not offer assistance with relocation or visa sponsorship.
