Purpose and Scope
This position provides analytical support in the conceptualization, development, and implementation of complex system projects. The role involves providing management with data analyses and information obtained from various sources to assist with key financial and operational decisions. The goal is to build and design data-driven solutions that deliver high-quality outcomes.
Cybersecurity Data Analyst Focus
Responsibilities include developing, administering, and enhancing a cybersecurity metrics and analytics platform to provide strategic, operational, and tactical reporting for internal and external stakeholders. The role involves:
- Developing strategies and continuous improvements for the Information Security Office Metrics & Analytics program in line with industry frameworks.
- Prioritizing innovative solutions to identify and manage information security risks.
- Collaborating closely with security stakeholders to understand opportunities and coordinate efforts.
- Ensuring operational excellence of platforms and supporting technology.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with data engineers, service owners, system owners, and leadership in various time zones to continuously improve insights and inform strategic direction.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Key duties include:
- Designing and deploying business intelligence tools and capabilities that encourage self-service for the company’s advanced analytics needs.
- Maintaining current knowledge of enterprise reporting systems, database technology, industry conferences, and literature.
- Developing and maintaining internal partnerships to document, analyze, and communicate requirements for projects involving the business intelligence platform.
- Designing, coding, and testing major data reporting features, collaborating with team members for complex reporting enhancements.
- Analyzing and revising existing system logic to ensure enterprise reporting meets business expectations and IT standards.
- Utilizing system information to explore alternative solutions to IT or business problems and issues.
- Acting as a seasoned, experienced professional who resolves various issues creatively and efficiently.
- Escalating issues to supervisors/managers when necessary and providing assistance to junior staff with more complex tasks.
- Reviewing and complying with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Assisting with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree is desirable.
Experience and Required Skills
- 5 – 8 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.
- Working experience in programming, CI/CD, and Agile/DevOps environments.
- Experience in best-practice developer methodologies, including documentation, version control, and code review.
- Practical knowledge of Information Security standards and frameworks (ISO 27001/27002, NIST, etc.).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISM, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, GIAC) are desired.
- Experience in developing executive-level dashboards, operational dashboards, and risk management dashboards from detailed data points.
- Innovation and creativity in translating data into compelling narratives.
- Strong client service orientation and communication skills with a high sense of urgency to keep partners informed.
- Adherence to IT processes, management objectives, and awareness of the impact of changes to risk profiles.
- Strong understanding of analytics, risk management, and business strategy.
- Demonstrated technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing and shifting priorities, showcasing accountability and attention to detail.
