About the Lead Data Engineer Position at Fiserv

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will spearhead large-scale data engineering, integration, and warehousing projects. You’ll craft custom integrations between cloud-based systems using APIs, and develop complex, efficient queries to transform data into accessible models using advanced languages such as Java, Python, and SQL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers in designing and developing scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Architect and implement data models, ETL processes, and data integration solutions to meet business objectives.
• Guide coding, testing, and debugging of complex data engineering solutions.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering to enhance team capability and efficiency.

Requirements for Success:

• 8+ years of experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
• Proven expertise in developing solutions for processing large volumes of data, and familiarity with Big Data platforms and cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• A strong leadership background in software development or engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Big Data tools and relational, dimensional modeling of unstructured data.
• Knowledge of high-scale or distributed RDBMS and NoSQL databases like Cassandra, DynamoDB.
• Background in banking and financial domain architecture.
