An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Boeing Poland as a Lead Full Stack Software Developer for the Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) division, based in Gdansk, Poland.

Position Overview

We are a product-led analytics group within BDS transforming business operations through artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI & ML). Our dynamic team of data scientists, data engineers, and software developers tackle the challenges of our rapidly evolving technical stack.

We seek a talented full stack developer ready to explore new technologies and architectures within an innovative team. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end development of AI & ML-derived products and features. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in building products across the stack, with a thorough understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back-end languages.

Position Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
• Develop highly scalable distributed solutions that enhance user experiences and drive business growth.
• Create new features and infrastructure to support rapidly emerging business and project needs.
• Lead projects from conceptualization to deployment.
• Ensure application performance, uptime, and scalability, while maintaining code quality and application design standards.
• Architect and guide the development of end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale.
• Collaborate with designers, front-end engineers, and back-end engineers to create reliable APIs.
• Engage in cross-time zone collaboration via Teams, Mattermost, GitHub, and video conferences.
• Influence, innovate, and continuously improve the software engineering process, quality, safety, and reliability at Boeing.
• Work proactively with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports to understand operational and performance expectations.
• Cultivate a positive team culture and motivation.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Intermediate or higher level of English language proficiency.
• Legal authorization to work in Poland.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
• 9+ years of professional experience.
• Willingness to learn and work with new technologies.
• Strong design and system thinking skills.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Node.js, and Go.
• Experience with Open-Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and tools such as GitHub (AWS knowledge is a plus).
• Frontend experience with React, Angular, or Vue.
• 7+ years of experience in unit and integration testing.
• 7+ years of experience developing web services (REST, SOAP, etc.).
• 7+ years of experience in containerization (Docker, OCI).
• Experience in international and multi-national projects.
• 3+ years leading software development teams as a team lead.
• Experience leading a team of 4-5 software developers and data engineers.

Relocation

This position offers relocation. Candidates are expected to work from our office in Gdansk for at least 2 days a week.
