Over the last 30 years, we've been developing and publishing videogames independently at our various studios, which were set up by Jason & Chris Kingsley. But Rebellion is more than just about games. We have a film and motion-capture studio, we produce board games, publish novels, and via 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels like the renowned Judge Dredd.

We operate from several UK-based locations, which includes studios in Oxford, Warwick, Liverpool, and Wakefield. We're currently in search of an enthusiastic and highly motivated Machine Learning Analyst to join our brand-new Machine Learning department.

This exciting opportunity offers you the chance to play a crucial role and become a fundamental component in a small team that's committed to advancing our proprietary technology. As a vital part of our team, you'll be the centerpiece of our Machine Learning department and gain cross-functional experience with the potential to interact with varied departments that range from Game Design to Art, thereby contributing to comprehensive game development.

As a Machine Learning Analyst, you'll help build artificial intelligence systems in our game engine. Utilizing custom-sized tools and ML/DL models to generate 3D Worlds and Game Levels using cutting-edge ML/DL techniques. This is an exceptional opportunity to dive into the exhilarating world of research, suggest and construct innovative models, and assist in leading the way in product development.

Being part of our team necessitates an interest in both open-source satellite imagery data and in-house game-level data. You will assist with data analysis, data preparation for creating models, help with training, and verifying models.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend to the Head of the Machine Learning Department.
  • Propose and help design and execute suitable machine learning algorithms and tools.
  • Assist in carrying out machine learning tests and experiments.
  • Help analyze machine learning tests.
  • Aid with training and retraining systems as required.
  • Assist in creating and building machine learning libraries and frameworks relevant for our game development tools and released games.

Requirements

  • A robust interest in the Machine Learning and Game development fields.
  • Proficiency to code in Python and C++
  • Solid knowledge of math, probability, statistics, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Some experience in supervised, semi-supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning of machine learning/deep learning.
  • Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
  • Experience with tabular data, computer vision/imaginary data, and game data sets is preferable.
  • A practical experience using NumPy, OpenCV, Pillow, Pandas, scikit-learn, scikit-image, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras during coursework or internships.
  • CI/CD and version control using GitLab and Perforce are advantageous.
  • Experience in one of these AWS/Azure/GCP, mostly Azure, would be desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously within a team.
