PeopleCert is on the search for an exceptional and talented individual to join our team as a Machine Learning Engineer for (Educational Applications) in Athens, Greece. As a Machine Learning Engineer - Educational Applications, your responsibilities will include: - Researching and developing NLP/ML solutions for educational applications using cloud services. - Working closely with our product and tech team to ensure the seamless transfer, operationalization, and deployment of NLP/ML solutions into our products. - Facilitating the successful delivery of NLP/ML research. - Building algorithms and designing experiments for optimizing and fine-tuning NLP/ML models. - Developing, prototyping, and training NLP/ML solutions for integration into our products. - Working on data processing and formatting methods suitable for NLP/ML model development. - Ensuring solutions comply with ethical guidelines and uphold user privacy. - Keeping abreast with the most recent advancements in the field of NLP/ML and educational applications and ensuring the development of state-of-the-art solutions. - Communicating and presenting work and outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences. What we seek: - A Bachelor's and MSc degree in Computer Science / NLP / ML, or a related area. A PhD degree would be an advantage. - Hands-on experience in developing deep learning methods and solutions – working with large language models, libraries like HuggingFace and OpenAI. - Substantial experience in NLP/ML and the ability to lead our tech team. - Python programming skills (Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.) - Technical competency to conduct research and develop a state-of-the-art NLP/ML environment. - Outstanding English language proficiency (C2 level certification desired, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate is a plus) and excellent communication skills. - Advanced computer literacy. ECDL Advance level certification would be a plus. - Experience in tech transfer and model operationalization. - Ability to gather, analyze, and validate technical requirements. - A notable research record in NLP/ML with the evidence of publications in top-tier venues. - Experience in managing databases for NLP/ML model development and solutions. - Experience in conducting end-to-end testing ensuring solutions are production-ready. - In-depth experience in product development. For those working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTS) A mandatory Background Check (the results should be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) is required for anyone engaged by PeopleCert working on the SELT service before they begin their duties. All SELT personnel must complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) declaring any criminal record and/or bankruptcy. If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include: - A basic or advanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check. - Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity, and residence). - HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) - Financial background check. - Employment reference check. - For those working on the SELT service outside the UK, background checks equivalent to those in the UK are required. Additionally, if personnel need to interact with SELT candidates, they must be proficient in English language and, where SELT services are offered outside the UK, the official language of the respective country.
