The Role: Senior Manager, Risk Analytics

The Risk Analytics team at Razorpay is seeking a self-driven Senior Manager to lead our Machine Learning-driven Risk Intelligence sub-function. Our team is composed of passionate problem solvers who use data-driven strategies to empower decision-making, ensuring the best risk management and high order acceptance rates for merchants. We aim to minimize operational costs and safeguard our brand value.

A successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong action bias, capable of developing and implementing new solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Understand the Risk OKRs and the operational environment
• Collaborate with product, business, analytics, and data engineering teams to define key initiatives
• Clarify ambiguous use cases, align stakeholders, and build solution concepts
• Independently scope ML problems and manage model conceptualization, development, deployment, and experimentation
• Deliver exceptional performance in a dynamic environment with limited supervision
• Contribute to skill-building activities within the organization (training, process definition, research on new tools and techniques)
• Stay updated on the latest tools and technologies to enhance existing ML capabilities
• Define and evaluate business and product metrics, create self-serve dashboards with tools like Tableau, Qlikview, Looker
• Identify gaps and opportunities through qualitative and quantitative analysis

Qualifications

• 5-10 years experience in Analytics & Data Science within a Tech Ecosystem. Experience in fraud, risk, or insurance is advantageous
• Proficient in AI/ML opportunity identification and solution development in collaboration with engineering, product, and business teams
• Hands-on experience with Machine Learning development and model deployment. Mastery of regression, classification, clustering, AUC, ROC, precision, recall. Knowledge of Deep Learning and tools like TensorFlow, Theano, Torch, Caffe is a plus
• Expertise in SQL, PySpark, Spark SQL, NoSQL databases, and familiarity with GraphDBs like Neo4j
• Experience with large-scale data processing and data preprocessing/cleansing techniques
• Skilled in collaborating with MLEs and utilizing MLOps tools. Experience with CI/CD deployment is beneficial
• Ability to construct data narratives using exploratory data analysis and statistical inference. Knowledge of experimentation design is essential
• Proficient in developing frameworks for model Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) using analytical tools
• Experienced in risk management for different lending and payment products across merchant cash flows and transactions
• Prior experience in Consumer-tech organizations is a plus
