RTX is actively seeking a highly skilled Manager / Principal Specialist Data Scientist to lead and expand our Data Sciences function within the AI, Data Sciences & Analytics COE. This role is pivotal in shaping the strategic direction, recruitment, and overall performance metrics of our data sciences projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership: Establish and grow the Data Sciences function by recruiting top-tier talent, developing strategic roadmaps, and managing key performance indicators (KPIs).

Collaboration: Partner with global business units to comprehend their challenges and design scalable data-driven solutions.

Data Analysis: Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze complex datasets, extracting insights that influence strategic decisions.

Technology Integration: Work closely with Global Technology teams to ensure alignment with current standards and best practices in solution development.

Communication: Develop presentations that effectively communicate the status and outcomes of projects to stakeholders.

Innovation: Stay updated with emerging technologies and enhance skills in data science, machine learning operations, and relevant platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics with at least 13 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 11+ years of experience. Proven leadership in technical roles and experience in personnel development are essential. Proficiency in English and exceptional interpersonal skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Aerospace & Defense processes, gas turbine engineering, and setting up new teams is highly desirable. Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Hive, and familiarity with big data tools like Spark, AWS, Hadoop, and Databricks will be advantageous. Candidates should also have experience with Data Governance, Architecture, Platforms, and agile working environments.
