Your role:
You love identifying patterns. Maybe you spent your childhood assembling 1,000-piece puzzles, noticing that tiny detail that revealed the ideal placement. You are proficient with the latest tools and methods, from statistics to machine learning. While others were floundering in statistics, you were in your element. You take the lead in working with business stakeholders to grasp their objectives and determine how data might help. What distinguishes you? Unlike others, you perceive and apply your work through a human lens. You are passionate about taking any data chaos from drab to fab and repackage it into a narrative that the average person can comprehend.
The role:
In this position, you must first understand the client's IT infrastructure and the types of security incidents they have encountered. Then, you must collect and analyze data from Splunk and Swimlane to identify patterns that might indicate anomalies. Once you have identified these patterns, you need to create algorithms to detect and alert these anomalies. You also need to work with the client to develop a strategy for deploying and maintaining the new anomaly detection capability, which includes training the client's security team on how to use it and ensuring it integrates with the client's pre-existing security infrastructure.
Here's what you need:
- 3+ years of experience in data science with a focus on cybersecurity analytics.
- 1 year of experience in data science with a focus on cybersecurity analytics.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or other data science programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning libraries like TensorFlow, Keras, or Scikit-learn.
- Solid comprehension of cybersecurity concepts, threat landscapes, and attack vectors.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with big data platforms like Hadoop or Spark.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools, SIEM platforms, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI.
- Previous experience in a consulting environment or client-facing role.
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Data Scientist.
- Master’s or Ph.D.
Eligibility Requirements:
- US Citizenship required.
